Former LSU, NFL offensive lineman Brandon Winey was arrested early Saturday (April 12, 2014) morning in Sulphur, Louisiana.

Winey was arrested for allegedly shooting former LSU linebacker Tahj Jones in the abdomen Friday (April 11, 2014) night. Jones went an apartment complex to visit a woman and Winey arrived shortly after to visit the same woman. An altercation ensued, and Winey pulled out a handgun and shot Jones.

Jones, 24, played at LSU from 2010 to 2013 and is a prospect in the 2014 NFL Draft in May.

Winey, 36, played at LSU from 1997 to 2000 and in the NFL with the Denver Broncos (2001), Washington Redskins (2003) and the New York Giants (2004).
